I Got SPAM today from Sarah~ LOL!

I got a SPAM today from Sarah Anderson (sarah.anderson@gmail.com). It sound like a long lost friend that I havn't keep in touch. But, I am thinking who is this Sarah? I went to facebook to search if I can find anything, the result is NOTHING..... so I didn't even bother to click on the link. So, if you see a fishy email, don't try to click the links, you may download a virus. =)

Quote for the HOAX email:

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Annie, it’s Sarah here, it was such a long time we didn't contact each other, how is it going with you there ? I heard that you got a new job, didn’t you? Is everything ok there ? Hey, can you believe it! I got married to Timothy ! Yes I did. I tried to call but you did not answer. You have changed your number, haven’t you? Just give me your current telephone number if you read this mail. It’s really a pity that we did not see you in our wedding. I wanted to invite you so much. Well, here I’m sending you a few pics taken in our wedding :

Links for the virus

Let's keep in touch then.
Love,
Sarah & Timothy"

  1. I got it too. Decided to search for others to confirm that it was spam and not someone I've completely forgotten that I knew! LOL! Thanks for the warning.

  3. Ohmygosh...I got it too, AND I clicked on the link. It didn't go anywhere, but we'll see if I come up with a virus. When the link didn't work, I Googled it, and that's how I found your blog post...

I'm usually pretty web-savvy and know not to click on things like this, but since it included my name (ie. mine said "Hiiiiiii Casey"), and I actually HAVE recently gotten a new job....Ugh. Can't believe I fell for it.

Will keep you wise folks who didn't click on it posted :)

  5. You blog helped me avoid a potential computer problem, too! What's more, my former employer forwarded it to me! Thank you!

  6. I have been receiving SPAM from a SARAH for a LONG TIME now. I have to say that it is annoying. These SPAMMERS never die out it seems. They just SPAM and SPAM and SPAM in hopes that they will get a return email. I am thankful that the GMAIL SPAM filter is good. It always seems to catch the correct stuff. Yay!!!!!
